RIP Frank Windsor. As far as I am concerned, Z-Cars was the best police tv series of the lot. The relationship and interplay between him and Stratford Johns - as Watt and Barlow - is unforgettable. They don't write 'em like that any more.

They did a series on Jack the Ripper in character that I remember well.
