Is The Producers something you have a problem with? Because if not, Steve's just doing the same thing

If he is not he can have absolutely no concept whatever of what being on the Jewish side of anti-Semitism is like.
I have been more than a little lucky in that my maternal grandmother had a blazing row with the family's Rabbi who considered that Jewish women in some of the occupied countries were breaking accepted standards of Jewish parenthood by handing their children to goyim to be transported to safety outside the occupied countries and he considered that her Dutch relatives were to be praised for laying down their lives and the lives of their children for their faith. As if they had any choice!
As a result, her children were not brought up as Jews but as goyim. This does not change the fact that by Hebrew tradition the Jewish faith is passed from mother to daughter and not father to son, which means, despite my father being Anglican, technically, I am a Jew.
As I see it, 'The Producers' is a film by a Jew, Mel Brookes, taking the piss out of the Nazi's. He used ridicule as a weapon, (as, famously, did Charlie Chaplin) on more than one occasion, this being one of them.

P S - The above is based upon what I was taught as a child. but never having been a practising Jew it might not be totally accurate.
It does not change my opinion of anti-Semitism which definitely cost me more than a few relatives.
