How much does it cost annually for NHS staff to get 1% rise?

An article here about the cost of a 5 or 10% pay rise and various speculation about recouping that cost:

V. interesting ...

Quote
While the cost to the exchequer of a 10% pay increase would be £3.4bn this year on paper, the report, commissioned by NHS trade unions, found that these wider benefits would take the actual cost down to just £660m.

So, to my mind £3.4bn for a 10% pay rise does not seem too much, considering that the budget is allocating a further 15bn to the discredited test and trace setup:

And if you take the £660m figure, factoring in other benefits --- why, that is within two weeks worth of the much touted BRExit saving, for the nhs, of £350m a week!

I see that BJ has been lying during PMQs and his new press secretary, in a Trump style briefing, just makes stuff up to try and obscure the lies!
