Sueing the doctor for being born....

Hi everyone,

A 20 year old woman sues her mother's doctor for allowing her to be born.   ::)

Woman Sues Mom's Doctor For Allowing Her To Be Born, Wins Millions.

A woman who sued her mother's doctor - claiming that she should never have been born - has won the right to millions in damages. Evie Toombes, a star showjumper from the UK, launched the landmark "wrongful conception" case against her mother's doctor as she was born with spina bifida. The spinal defect means that Evie sometimes spends 24 hours a day connected to tubes, reports The Sun.

The court actually allows such cases to be filed?! And she wins....!

It's a misleading headline. It's about giving bad advice.

What actually happened was that Evie's mother was given incorrect advice about taking folic acid to prevent her baby from having spina bifida.

Quote
I was advised that if I had a good diet previously, I would not have to take folic acid

As a result, Evie is now encumbered with having to spend a lot of money over her lifetime because of her condition. It actually seems quite a reasonable case to me.
