Clare Henry, art critic for the Glasgow Herald and the FT, has just posted this on Facebook. It's 4 years and 9 months since the 2nd fire.
'The Glasgow School of Art has SCRAPPED its search for an architect to lead the £62 million restoration of its fire-damaged Mackintosh building, saying it needs to completely restart its procurement process
The SHOCK announcement – which will result in no appointment being made at this stage – comes almost 12 months after the GSA launched the contest to oversee the rebuilding of the school, which burned down nearly five years ago.
In a statement, the school blamed a ‘technical error in the scoring matrix used in the procurement process’ for the procurement being abandoned. It also said a new invitation would be issued ‘in due course’ following a review and that it remained committed to its original restoration timetable.'
