My candidates in Adeyfield East. I see the Lib Dems are keeping it in the family. I will of course be voting Labour, but I'd've preferred more choice: back in 2011 I was able to vote for myself as the only Green candidate - I gave my other vote to one of the Labour candidates. I came last, but my share of the vote was not totally derisory: I was only five votes behind the lower-scoring of the two Lib Dems.

My two-seater ward has been Tory for a long time, but now one of the Tories has been kicked out, and replaced by one of the Labour candidates. The other Tory, who is leader of the council , kept his seat by only 11 votes (thogh that's a higher proportion than it would be in a general election, given the smallness of council wards). My council is Dacorum Borough Council, which is now Lib Dem, the first time the Tories haven't been in charge since the 90s, when Labour controlled it for a couple of years. Excellent news about the Greens being the largest party in East Herts.

Bear in mind that the last time these councils were contested, the Tories got an absolute drubbing, losing over 1,300 seats.

Normally, you would expect some kind of regression to the mean...

Bracknell Forest, normally solidly Tory, tried an unofficial and unadmitted progressive alliance to get rid of the Tories - and it seems to have worked.

I wonder if they have been instituting policies locally that got up people's noses. The Greens currently have the most councillors in my local council but the council has been doing some very unpopular stuff recently with respect to the clean air zone and traffic restrictions.

I think they did that, and also reduced bin collections to a fortnight
