Interesting that Badenoch has taken this position. The current line of No 10 on this, and previously on Lee Anderson of saying comments are wrong but not why is the politics of pabulum.

You've got to feel for them stuck between a rock and a hard place.

They want to call out racism without alienating some of their core voters.

Letter from Lib Dems to Risky. Pity about all the "alleged(ly)"s, when we know that Overly-frank Hester did say what's reported, but I think MPs tend to use it as a sort of magic word to protect themselves against any possibility, however remote, of being sued for libel.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.
