They probably have the same value as the old threepenny bit.  I hope they fit in parking machines.

I looked this up on the net, the buying power of a 3d coin in 1970 is today the equivalent of 43 pence  :)

The buying power of a 3d coin  in 1958 is today the equivalent of £1.  :D

And nobody was still pricing in farthings, so you could only divide 3d into 6.  Now, you can divide £1 into 100.  Do we need coins less than 10p?

Dear Rose,

48 million pounds worth of fake pound coins :o :o quick every one go and check their small change, for those on the east coast of Scotland, don't bother, you have to spend to receive change.

Ah my little chip on the shoulder, I have polished it to perfection ;D ;D

I will now read posts very carefully and then using the two God given brains cells that I have reply as if I am talking to a two year old, yes that should suffice as a gentle reminder✝️✝️✝️❤️

Only tangentially related (apologies for the pun), but on the basis that this reminds me of why non-round coins are shaped as they are, here's some geometric fun/nerdism courtesy of Steve Mould (of the Festival of the Unspoken Nerd).
