I think his attitude in the article makes it clear that was not much of a might have been, but a pretty certain never gonna happen.

I still think of him as John Koenig.

I always got the impression he was not very happy in that role. Or maybe it was just the character. It was certainly one of the glummer outings produced by Anderson.

To be fair to him, I think it was the character, of a commander who knows that he and his crew are all doomed.

The first series I thought was very good. The second was Bollox, with the exception of The Bringers of Wonder.
