'Silent Witness'. I didn't watch it until a few months ago, on  iplayer. I'm currently up to 2019. Don't like Jack Hodgson, who's a thug, albeit a brainy one. Like Clarissa Mullery, but it's a pity about Liz Carr's illogical opposition to assisted suicide (nor that that's relevant to her thespian skill). Can be rather depressing.
Also 'Foyle's War', another I'd never seen until a week or two ago. The eccentrically-named Honeysuckle Weeks is excellent as a typical 1940s  jolly-hockey-sticks posho, and Michael Kitchen is a master of deadpan understatement, especially when casually telling a wrong 'un that they'll probably hang. Love the general period feel, esp. all the lovely old cars and railway engines.

I think the BBC must be amazed that Silent Witness is still going and getting excellent ratings. As long as you allow for a suspension of disbelief for what they are allowed to get up to, it's a solidly put together show. If you haven't watched Waking The Dead in terms of past shows, it's worth it.

I do think Michael Kitchen in Foyle's War is up there with Thaw in Morse, and Suchet in Poirot.
