Walter,

Yeah right - actually 37 years together if you include the seven when we lived in heinous sin before getting married.

You know that old philosophical conundrum about if a tree falls in a forrest with no-one to hear it does it still make a sound? My version is, if I'm all on my own in a forrest and express an opinion, am I still wrong?  ;)
Blue ,

What the hell do you think you are doing having opinions in the first place ?

37 years? Murderers get less !!!

I managed about 25 years with 2 different strifes
The current Mrs Walter is a random choice as the want takes me (who am I kidding) haha

You have a little way to go before you have been married as long as us, 50 years next month! I think living together before marriage is a good idea, not that my parents would have permitted it. I was 19, below the age of majority then, when we I married, my husband was 22.  Both our married girls lived with their partners for a couple of years before they tied the knot.

HH,

No problem. What Robbie said was: Birdsong is nice & wind through the trees.

Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain?

Ditto.

Ditto. Being a great classical music lover this came as a blow. Developed 3 or so years ago after months of earache.
The problem seems to be fairly common (sufferers here all noted), and is something doctors don't like to hear about, since there's not that much they can do.

I only clicked on this thread jjust now so it has been an interesting read all the way through.
Favourite sounds have changed from time to time in my life. At the moment I think that I'd choose bird song on a May or June Sunday morning, when there is little traffic around and I have my hearing aids in, turned up if necessary. Being able to relate different songs to names of birds makes it more interesting. When my great-grandchild arrives early next year, I dare say that a favourite sound will be the ones he/she makes.

I suppose I'll have to give Synthetic Dave a mention!!`

For me it would be the sound of waves on the shore from the gently rhythmic to the dramatic pounding.

Indeed. 'Just need to live with it' is the favourite phrase. Sadly does seem quite common, its a noisy world these days.

A rare sound these days.
What nonsense you do spout. kids play as much now as ever - the popular idea that they're all glued to their computers and smartphones and have forgotten how to play in the traditional sense is nonsense. I see kids playing in the street and parks all the time.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.

The gentle trickle of liquid cascading into a clear receptacle, slowly and silently frothing to form a black and white picture of delicious loveliness, followed by the gentle rustle of paper being presented by my friend to the barman to pay for our two pints of Guinness.

Sebastien, I thought you were talking about lavatory until you said, "..by my friend to the barman to pay for our two pints of Guinness." Quite a relief  :D, I thought the toilet business was weird. I must be extra weird for thinking of it -  ewwwww - good night I'm going back to bed.
