Yes, I know who Adrian Flowers is, I thought perhaps Harrowby had not met him.

Apologies, misunderstood!

From yours I'd go for Robert Plant, I don't know why, other than I'd not got you down as Prog rock kinda girl!

That's ok. I'm not that keen on Led Zep but love Stairway to Heaven. But no, I knew Robert Plant as a teenager, he went to school with my brother. We used to stand at a bus stop after school and one afternoon he was talking about a gig he was doing that evening (this is at the age of 14) I lifted my hand up and ran it along in a line and said, "one day we'll see your name in lights" , we laughed, little did we know ....

Just one of those strange photographic memories. I can see him now with a mass of curly hair with his school cap placed on the top.

Muddy Waters - wow! I can understand as I remember you saying you were a blues fan.

I think I'll say, John Thaw.

I stood next to her at the end of Robin and Brian's Christmas Compendium a few years ago when Duran Duran were playing. Technically, I suppose I could also have had Simon Le Bon since we were in the front row and he was at the front of the stage.

Cliff? All of them are plausible in some way.

My obvious immediate reaction was Ramesses II, but I bet you've seen his mummy, you crafty sod. I guess Neil Armstrong.

Bingo! Nope. Met Cliff more than a few times, 'cos he was honorary VP of the BB, and other stuff. Been too near Phil the Greek for comfort at a Kirk event in Edinburgh. Similarly, I was a youth observer at the General Assembly where the old blue meanie gave her infamous "Sermon on the Mound", and I was very up close and personal to ole' Ra messes in 1980, when the cases were removed from the 'mummy room' as it then was, in Cairo Museum, to dust off the mould from their occupants. You could still smell the resin. No..... was supposed to see Armstrong in Glasgow, but the bus broke down en route. Technology, eh?

Jesus (it would be interesting to know what he was really like)
The Minstrel Blondel (an ancestor of mine)
The Queen
Keir Starmer
Biden

I met Cliff Richard in the early 70s when over in Guernsey, he was invited to join a group us on a day trip we were making to the small island of Herm.
Read the opening post!

Dot Cotton, because she's fictional, so you can't have met her.

Aha - good response ... but no.

I met June Brown on the set of Eastenders, all decked up as and interacting as Dot Cotton, so I think my claim was kind of accurate. Also met Roly the dog (also fictional, although definitely a real dog).

In that case, since you're not an under-age girl, probably randy Andy.

Nope - met Prince Andrew in one of the most bizarre experiences of my life.

I was asked to attend a meeting at Buckingham Palace about setting up a University Technical College, which was to be chaired by him. There was no clear agenda nor expected outcomes for the meeting provided in advance. Thought - why not, assuming I'd be just 'room meat' (in other words just there to make up the numbers).

Went along and everyone was kept waiting for 30 mins because the meeting couldn't start without him and he was late. Fairly big meeting - perhaps 30 people, education people, industry people, but it became rapidly clear I was the key person as to establish a UTC you need a university sponsor and I was the only university person invited. Effectively positioned directly opposite Andrew and Kenneth Baker (UTCs were his thing) and subjected to a really hard sell.

Establishing a UTC was not for us so I politely declined to be involved - after the meeting.

Andrew actually chaired the meeting reasonably well but I thought keeping us all waiting was totally unacceptable - the meeting could have started with Ken Baker chairing, but apparently Palace protocols wont allow it!!
